All about Rainforests

A Rainforest is a forest which has got plenty of rainfall and trees. The most popular Rainforests are the Amazon, Congo, South-east asian, Kinabalu, Tongass, Santa Elena Cloud, and New Guinea. Out of all , the Amazon Rainforest is the biggest. The Amazon Rainforest also covers 4% of the world, and it is a home to 50% of animals and plants living on the enormous earth. The Amazon Rainforest also produces 20% of the world's oxygen. About 25% of medicines are produced using the plants living in the Rainforest, (such as neem). Few of the medicines made from plants are, tulsi, pudina, and lavender. Each tree in the Amazon rainforest is 60M TALL !!! Totally, all the rainforests cover 6% of the world. In the Amazon Rainforest, there are 427 mammals, 1,300 birds, 378 reptiles and 400 amphibians. But the Amazon Rainforest has a lot of deforestation which means many people are cutting a huge amount of trees down.

This is when humans will start getting less oxygen and animals will start loosing their homes. The products produced using trees are paper, rubber, wood, furniture, houses, pencils...… etc. Every minute, a size of a football pitch is cut down. There are 4 layers of a rainforest. The first layer is the emergent, the second layer is the canopy, the third layer is the understory, and the fourth layer is the forest floor. To stop deforestation, we can recycle all the paper that we have used rather than throwing it in the bin, so there will be less paper wasted. Also we can stop wasting the products manufactured by trees. There are many rainforests in Asia, South America, Australia, Africa, Peru, Brazil, India, Congo, and Malaysia .There are soo many rainforests near the equator, the line on top of the equator is called the Tropic of Cancer. Also, the bottom line is called the Tropic of Capricorn.

The usual climate in the Amazon Rainforest is hot and humid, and it gets 300 ml of rainfall ,and 30 degrees temperature, (mostly in march). It gets only 50 ml of rainfall and 10 degrees temperature in august .

To conclude my opinion on rainforests, I think we should definitely stop deforestation because animals' habitats are getting destroyed and if deforesting the rainforest continues , in 100 years, we won't have many rainforests as we have now and many people would not get enough oxygen. Also, many animals and tribes would not have much food to eat as they might die.
