The Industrial Revolution is a period of history from 1780 to 1850. During this period people started using machines rather than following hand production methods (making goods using hands).
It is required to have lots of money in order to build all the machines and factories. In Belgium, Two Englishmen called William & John Cockerill began the industrial revolution by building machine shops in liege. The life before the industrial revolution was like people use to cook, work, play & sleep in one single room. The most notable changes included in this period were the use of new materials such as iron, steel and the use of new energy sources like fuels, machine power, coal, steam engine, electricity, petroleum.
Most of the people, instead of being craftsmen working with hand tools, became machine operators in huge factories. There were many changes in transportation and communication, including the steam engines, cars, airplanes, telephones & radio. All these helped to increase the mass production of manufactured goods. As life was going on, people were becoming unhealthy because of all the smoke and soot blasting out of factories which went into human lungs.
There were some inventions during the 18th Century, such as the steam engine, spinning jenny, power loom, water frame, and many more… Few notable artists during this period were Charles dickens, J.M.W. Turner, Samuel Morse. Charles Dickens was an English writer, social critic & artist. J.M.W. Turner was a painter, printmaker & watercolorist. Adam Smith, John Kay, James Watt, Samuel Morse, Samuel Crompton were few famous Victorians during this era.
My personal view about the industrial revolution is, there were lots of machines invented for people to make their life better and to manufacture goods faster but it has increased pollution in the air and crowded places.
